The Challenge:

Orange County Container Group (OCCG) recently merged with Corrugated Services, Inc. (CSI) which resulted in a newly formed organization with several systems containing financial data across various locations. The combined organization required new processes to support the preparation and analysis of financial statements both on a consolidated and location-level basis for their monthly and annual financial close cycle. Because of Optimum’s proven experience in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), and as a Corrugated Services Partner, we were chosen to assist with the selection and implementation of a solution that would support OCCG’s requirements.

The Solution:

Optimum recommended the implementation of Oracle’s Hyperion Financial Management System, Fusion Edition. Optimum immediately got to work with OCCG and completed one of the first successful implementations of this latest HFM release. Due to the aggressive timeline required, Optimum utilized our proprietary RapidSolutions^SM implementation methodology to quickly bring the solution to UAT, and then Production, to meet OCCG’s reporting deadlines. Optimum’s knowledgeable functional and technical resources worked collaboratively with OCCG to implement a solution that met both Finance and InformationTechnologies goals and objectives.

OCCG is now strategically positioned to:

• Produce an Income Statement and Balance Sheet that supports the required consolidations and location level reporting
• Support eliminations of intercompany sales
• Improve the financial close and reporting process while increasing internal controls
• Expand their reporting and analysis solution with this strong foundation
